Since 2006, I have worked with challenging populations both children and adults empowering them to overcome criminal backgrounds, generational barriers, and other obstacles that play a role in being a productive member of society.

 

Working with individuals that have often been written off by society as not deserving of a second chance drives me to ensure they are afforded a second chance and have the tools and resources to take advantage of a second chance opportunity.

 

Currently, I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Mental Health Therapy. I am employed full time as a Supervisor at Ingham County Youth Center, where we practice evidence based trauma informed cognitive behavior concepts as well as stress the importance of regulating youths by implementing a variety holistic methods.

 

I serve as a Truancy Intervention Therapist with Community Mental Health of Eaton County, which affords me to provide Outreach therapy at schools and in homes to students that have been referred by the truancy officer or petitioned by the courts for truancy issues.

 

This position allows me to provide mental health interventions to deter students from formal court involvement. I also facilitate weekly Substance Abuse groups, Cognitive Behavior Therapy groups and Economic Crime groups to adults that are on probation for a variety of offenses at Cognitive Consultants LLC.

 

In my spare time I am building my own private practice Key Concepts Counseling & Consultants LLC, where I currently contract with the State of Michigan DDHS, as well as take Medicaid insurance. It’s not work when you love what you do.
